How Smart is Your Right Foot?
I bet that you cannot do this.

1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot
off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the
air with your right hand. Your foot will change
direction.

I told you so ......... .. And there's nothing you
can do about it!

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING ON?

When we grow, our cells multiply to form new features, but how do they know where the boundaries are? What stops them from continuing to multiply and what allows them to make the lovely shapes of our bodies?

Firstly, do any kids actually research the answers to their homework these days, or do they just copy the question verbatim onto yahoo answers and hope that someone will answer it for them?

Secondly, why does every foolish fundamentalist Christian teenager feel it necessary to put misinformed "questions" onto the biology section ineptly criticising evolution? What is the best that they are hoping for? That we will say, "You know what? I was going to believe in millions of pages of carefully documented evidence and experimentation, but thanks to your misspelled and fundamentally incorrect rhetoric I think I will just believe that God magiced everything into existence!" Why waste your time?

Weird, I am sure I was 23 a minute ago, I seem to have been replaced by a grumpy 67 year old man. Must be tired...

You know, it's like when you lie on your leg and then when you try to get up, it's hard to walk and feels like your leg is electrified or sleeping and it takes like a minute to get back to normal.

I'm not sure if it's called neuropraxia so I just want to make sure.

OK...Can anyone help here?

When you look at your family tree, you have....

1. YOU
2. MUM
3. GRAN
4. GREAT GRAN
5. GREAT GREAT GRAN
6. GREAT GREAT GREAT GRAN
7. GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GRAN
8. ETC ETC
9. ETC
10. ETC

Eventually you will get to Neanderthal gran, maybe 60 or 100 GREAT GREATS.

My question is this...

If I have 200 GREAT GREAT ETC until I get to Neanderthal gran and my next door neighbour has only 50 GREAT GREAT...

Does that mean I am more genetically advanced than my red neck neighbour??

It is like a car the more designs a car has had the more stylish it normally is.

I guess what I am trying to say or explain is that some of us are more evolved than others. This reflects in our behaviour and our attitude.

Some people are compassionate and some people just don't get it.

This could then be down to how many GREAT GREATS you have.

The more you have the more evolved you are.

Any suggestions on this idea?

For all of those that are well versed in biochemistry techniques I need some help in determining the ideal protocol for my research. So I am trying to determine a specific protease which degrades a receptor molecule that my lab studies but I am starting completely blank. So I thought that I should perform a DNA Microarray to determine gene expressio but I was wondering if anyone knows any other protocols which would allow me to view gene expression of many genes?

My lecturer told us GM foods are not dangerous, that they take a gene from one plant and add it to another plant. Isn't this just speeding up evolution. Modifing a wheat plant that can feed millions in 3rd world countries can only be beneficial.

I'm getting quite fed up with all of this Intelligent Design/creationist mumbo jumbo. I challenge you guys to come up with some good arguments that prove the ID "theory".
I AM NOT ASKING FOR ARGUMENTS AGAINST EVOLUTIONISM THIS CONCERNS ID ONLY!!! PROVING ONE THEORY WRONG DOES NOT PROVE ANOTHER THEORY RIGHT !!!

I'm a future Catholic Priest and I am, as a logical human being a supporter of Evolutionism, as is the Vatican.

P.S. The bible does not count as a scientific text, it was written by humans and tells us how we can live together and can answer religious questions, not scientific ones.

This is a simple question but one I find puzzling.

Tiny molecules go through our blood, and capiliaries, and within the cells themselves.
How do they get guided to the right place?

For example, if a tiny mitochondria accepts and produces various proteins (which are extremely small, even on the cell level) How do they get guided to the right place?

I don't buy the argument that they bounce around inside a cell until they attach correctly to some other structure...its too unlikely....what is guiding these molecules to the right place?

Any creative insights would be greatly appreciated.
thanx!

Do any doctors, pharmacists, drugs company or pharmaceutical corporations ever try to create medication with the "invert-mirror" formulation. Thus the "invert-mirror" medication will eat-up all the AIDS cells. I am not a doctor but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night....lol.
