Jellyfish belong to the phylum Cnidaria . The phylum has evidence of existing over 550 million years ago (it is one of the earliest phylums). However, much evolution has taken place since then. It depends what you re talking about when you say jellyfish - as there are many types of "jellyfish." I would look it up in a reliable source.
