They are 3/4inch to an inch long they are black some are kind of redish or browish ive only seen three when im at her house they look like they have 6 legs with 2 very log antennas and also have horizontal lines going acrosse there back they are also 1/2 inch in wedth what are they?

Sounds like cockroaches to me,unless they are some sort of beetle.For positive I.D.check the pics at the site below.As for me,I already know what type of roaches hang around this town.Have a good night checking their photo album.

It sounds like you're describing a type of cricket. The type I'm speaking of is lighter in color than what's usually seen, and can be found in crawlspaces under homes, as well as in caves. The lateral stripes are the clue. If not, then you ARE probably looking at a cockroach. "GOOGLE" these to see if a picture comes up that looks like the bug.

sounds like a cockroach to me .there are a lot of species
some can get very big.

OMG. i think there palemeto bugs.
im in south carolina and there here. they sound exactly what your describing. they lay eggs in paper bags at food stores. dont use paper bags. just plastic. you dont want those bugs in your house. there pretty scary
