Didn't both Copernicus and Galileo say that the Earth revolves around the Sun?
I don't understand why Galileo got singled out for persecution if Copernicus said the same thing a hundred years earlier.

how long , T(tot), does a mass m with initial velocity =0, take to fall to the surface of a planet (of mass M and radius r) from a height H above the surface , in a non-constant field given by GMm/(r+s)^2?

(where s is the height above the surface at any time t)

this is a lot more difficult than it looks!

I am doing a report on Lyra and we need to find a certain amount of things before I can hand it in. I was hoping that if I gave what I am looking for that someone could stear me in the right direction with websites and things.

1. What is the official name of the constellation from the IAU?
2. Are there any alternative names for this constellation? Like from other cultures.
3. What are the coordinates of the stars in this constellation? Also when can different states see it, like what months for the states.
4. What is the stellar evolution of the alpha and beta stars in this constellation?
5. What is the COMPLETE myth behind the constellation of Lyra?

What is it exactly? Let me try and compare this. Air is transparent. I can see through it to the items beyond it. There is no air, or anything, obstructing my view in space, so when I see the black "ceiling", I don't think I'm looking at space itself but some black thing. What is it?
