A dark year would be the same as a light year, because if a star was 5,865,696,000,000 miles away from us and it suddenly stopped shining, we would find out exactly one year later. That's when the "dark" would reach us.

Darkness has no speed. It is not a quantity or a property or matter. It is simply what is termed the lack of light.
Light is an electromagnetic energy. It is a measureable wave containing photons. Darkness is none of these. It is a nonentity.
If you are in a dark room, the darkness has no speed. It is a nonquantity
What you ask is the same as saying 'if a car travels at 55mph and then stops, at what speed is it now travelling?'

Funnily enough, this is not a nonsensical question, because gaps between photons sometimes behave like quanta, so a dark year is the same distance as a light year.

While dark is the opposite of light, when talking of shades, light is also a property, and has no opposite. Many words have more than one meaning.
