the answer is letter 'A'... 8 planets since pluto and the other two are considered dwarf planets... dwarf planets are also called planetoids... hence not a true planet...

Officially it is 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets. If you consider a dwarf planet to be a planet, then you could say 11.
