Allegedly, Einstein is to have said something along the lines of "The only thing incomprehensible about our universe is that it is comprehensible." However, I have long believed he said "The only thing comprehensible about our universe is that it is incomprehensible". Does anyone know which he said? And regardless, what statement do you agree with more?

....that Earth is the sole inhabited planet in the Universe?

The question that always comes up from those of the ilk that believes such nonsense is usually,
"Well if there is inteligent life why don't they contact us?"
can be simply answered in the assumption that these life forms that have the capability to contact us are of advanced intelligence and simply "know better" than to make contact with such a primitive, warring species.

Perhaps the analogy can be made in comparision to any one of us going into the jungle and trying to communicate with wild boar.

What might be the resulting consequences of that?

How can a supposed "intelligent mind" come to the conclusion that throughout the entire expanse of this Universe, we are the "best" that could come from either some Intelligent Design or a random fluke?

Is there any logic in the idea that the Universe exists solely to perplex us?

I think most people can recall about a Malaysian Astronout hitching a ride on the Soyuz to ISS. The issue is that there's some comment going around the he's just a Space Traveller. Do you agree ?

When looking at a model of the solar system, what caused all of the planets (RIP Pluto) to eventually settle on one plane? I would think that after the Big Bang all of the matter would have been scattered 3-dimensionally (which i'm sure it was), then why aren't the planets circling all over the sun? On the same note, larger scale, same action with galaxies.

details about the sun would be helpful as well.

What I mean is, would it be possible to have two planets occupying the same orbit around the sun, and rotating around each other? Kind of like Earth and the moon, only it would be another planet in the moon's place, the same size as Earth.

What is the best overall debate, and/or biggest controversy for any of these subjects.
"Dark Energy & Dark Matter"
"Black Holes"
"The definition/origin of a Planet, Pluto's status"

(EXTRA: And where would be the most informative place to get some research on it...?!?-Besides the NASA Site, Hubble's Site, or Wikipedia)

I came up with this thought while taking a shower today. Yes that's right.

A creature (let's say a rabbit) is sitting on a lawn chair relaxing for 24 hours. He watches the sky the entire day and sees the sun rise, go around and set again.

In the winter time, there is less day light and time than in the summer.
The rabbit (and I) wonders: (IMPORTANT Note for my question - the rabbit has no clock to guide him, so it's just from his observation) - does the sun appear to rotate around the sky faster than it would in the summer, or does it simply stay in the sky visibly for less time total?

I hope that made sense, sorry to not be clear - I was just curious. I'm talking about what the rabbit experiences through his outlook.

Last night, I was outside looking up at the stars, when I saw a falling star.
But it wasn't falling to the side or down...it was shooting UP.

Do stars fall up?
