Using the distance formula, determine the absolute magnitude of the sun. If the sun were 10 parsecs away, would we be able to see it in the night sky with the naked eye?

I am aware that the sun looks yellow from earth due to the atmospheric scattering of short wavelength (blue) light - the same reason that the daytime sky is blue. I am also aware that from space, where this effect does not occur, the sun appears white.

[a] Why, then, do the stars appear white when viewed through earth’s atmosphere? I understand that from such distances, the little bit of blue light that would be scattered wouldn’t light the nighttime sky or make it appear blue in color. But shouldn’t the little bit of starlight that passes through the atmosphere be yellowed like sunlight?

[b] Also, since twinkling of stars is an atmospheric effect like the shimmering mirages on the desert or those over hot asphalt - worse the warmer the night and the more active the atmosphere - why doesn’t the midday sun twinkle or shimmer when seen through our warm daytime atmosphere? Even low on the horizon when it is red and ditorted, it's still not "twinkling." Why just distant stars?

Why do so many people hold the view that the moon landing was faked? This has already been debunked numerous times and with factual data backing up the actual landing. I suspect when we finally launch the "planet finder" telescope, and can resolve the lander sitting on the surface------- folks will still contend that it is FAKED photo of the lander! Why?

Why would "intelligent" folks hold to this conspiracy theory?? .

I believe 100% in the big bang and evolutionary theory. The big crunch is one of the main theories on what the ultimate fate of the Universe will be.Just as the big bang occurred, the Universe must collapse on itself sometime, so if this is true do you think it could be possible that the Universe has many cycles, expanding then collapsing into a tiny sphere of matter the size of a marble such as when the big bang occurred. Since we dont know the true answer to any of these questions, I believe we should be open to any idea, because all of them are right but none of them are wrong.. ;)

You have a telescope that can detect all objects brighter than a minimum flux (or apparent brightness) level F. If you are observing quasars which have luminosity L which is 1500 times larger than the luminosity of a normal (non-active) galaxy, out to how much greater distance can you detect the quasars as compared to the galaxies?

I was trying to research on naming a star, but I found a few places. Is there one that is the best, or even just one that is the only. I am a little iffy, because I wouldn't think that multiple places could have that control.
