Calculate how much work is required to launch a spacecraft of mass m from the surface of the earth (mass me , radius Re) and place it in a circular low earth orbit, that is, an orbit whose altitude above the earth's surface is much less than Re . (As an example, the International Space Station is in low earth orbit at an altitude of about 400 km, much less than Re=6380 km .) You can ignore the kinetic energy that the spacecraft has on the ground due to the earth's rotation.
Express your answer in terms of the variables m,me, Re and appropriate constants.

B)Calculate the minimum amount of additional work required to move the spacecraft from low earth orbit to a very great distance from the earth. You can ignore the gravitational effects of the sun, the moon, and the other planets.
Express your answer in terms of the variables m,me ,Re , and appropriate constants.

She´ll be turning 10 soon and is interested in stars etc. I´d like her to be able to see things with some detail (eg. the comet which has recently exploded, Jupiter etc) but don´t want it to be too large or complicated. Also, there are 2 younger brothers ......
Any suggestions?

I'd like to find a reasonably priced telescope for my husband.
I want to wow him with a new toy, basicly . He needs something that offers the most celestial viewability and I have no idea (other than a reflector type) on what to get a beginner.
Which brands have more bang for the buck and which should I avoid?

I have a software that can read NASA JPL DE406 ephemerides files, but the program returns the coordinates of any given planet in x,y & z. Can someone please tell me how to convert them to zodiac coordinates, e.g; Libra 03 45' 53"? Many thanks!

I am a novice astrologist and I want to know if and how can you calculate the exact point on which falls the eastren horizon on the zodiac. Also, I have obtained a software piece which reads NASA JPL DE406 files and gives me the astronomical coordinates(x,y & z) of any planet. Many thanks to anyone who can explain to me how to convert them to zodiac coordinates. e.g.: Libra 03 45' 53"

I'm only wanting a smaller one for my own personal use. I cant spend very much on it, probably not more than 100 bucks. I know that one is better than the other in the sense that if your one person that is going to use it, and only for your personal use, than one would be better. I would like to see the solar system-stars-planets....ect..

By what different methods (there are at least 2) do we infer that globular clusters are the oldest things in our galaxy? How do we infer that objects in the spiral arms are the youngest members of the galaxy?
