Hikers do the 2200-mile Appalachian Trail in about 200 days, which is an average of 11 miles per day. Assuming that you could walk around the Earth's equator in the same way, with places to camp and get food and stuff, it would take about 6 years and 3 months. Be sure to wear good shoes, too, like Montrail's TRS Comp or Jura, or Merrell's Passage Ventilator. They'll *almost* let you walk on water.

Good question. I never thought of this. I have studied a lot about the equator but never thought of this. Actually the equator is just an imaginary line drawn on the earth to seperater the northern and the sourthern hemisphere. First of all you will have to find where this separates.
Going along the whole equator is like going around the whole world. You will be able to make a record like Ferdinand Magallen!

We all just forget one thing that is that the earth rotaews about its axis so no matter how fast u walk u can never walk through the equtor since u cannot match speed of rotation of earh thus in comparison to aperticular point u are always at rest

Assuming that you could walk on water and could average about 4 miles per hour, it would take about 250 days. That's if you walked 24 hours a day.... without sleeping.

How fast do you walk?
The equator is 40,070 km. If you do 100 meters in one minute (a slooooow walk), that's 400,700 minutes. 278 days and change of non stop walking.

Diameter of earth at equator = 12,793 km = 7949 miles
C = 2 * Pi * r = Pi * D = 7949 * 3.14159 = 24,972 miles
Walk at 3 miles/hr
Time = 24,972 miles / 3 miles/hr = 8,324 hours = 346.8 days

spidey------ what you posted is NOT true. Think about it------- there are many towns and cities located along the equator------ so no one can move around in those locations ?????? since the Earth is rotating beneath them???? (by the way it's also rotating beneath you right now ) Ha. :)
