we don't even know its shape

The "observable universe",
(the part of the universe we CAN see)

is a sphere with a radius of 46.5 billion light years

this is as far as we can see in ALL directions in space

thats about 273 TRILLION miles in each direction.
(273,350,241,000,000 miles)

and there IS more past that,
its just toooooooo far and fuzzy to be able to see it

It is about 156 billion light years in diameter.Its age is about 13.7 billion years old and the Universe consist of 125 billion galaxies.

nobody knows since the universe is fast expanding. it was first found out by HST that the universe is fast expanding.

HST= Hubble Space Telescope
