I just bought a cheep refractor telescope for 100 dollars yesterday. I spent about 5 hours last night with it from my bedroom window so I am pretty hooked. I'm taking it out in to the country tonight to get away from the city. Any advice you might give to a novice astronomer to help me out?

The earth wont last forever. In some billions years ahead, our sun will give us its last breath of energy until it vanishes into nothingness. And if we stay around, it seems we will share its fate. Will we die with it or move on somewhere else? When do you think that the last living human being will pass...?

I've been wondering this for a while.

If life is fairly unlikely, and I thought that's what scientists thought, then why is it that whenever I read a news item about our probes exploring our solar system, they always seem to EXPECT to find life?

Is this what actual scientists think?

Or is it just the article writers, raising the sexy possibility to get readers' attention?

What is the current thinking about how prevelant life is?

Trivia question : The fly is inside the moving car and is not on any surface but is on its wings (appears to be hovering). Does it mean as the car move forwards at 70 miles/hour, the fly is also moving at the same speed? If yes or no, why?

I have owned a telescope before and would like something that allows me to see as many objects as possible. This is for visual astronomy only, no astrophotography. Please recommend a make and model, and why you think it's such a good telescope. Thank you very much!

When the light from a star starts to travel from its source to its surrounding in space, does it go all directions in the same speed eternally? How can something keep the same speed forever?

When discussing relativity and spacetime, we learn that nothing, not even gravity, can travel faster than the speed of light. That gravity travels at exactly the speed of light makes the universe seem like a pond full of ripples. We only perceive the universe when those ripples reach the lens's of our telescopes.

When discussing time in the universe, therefore, we are forced to consider only one "now" - that's our "now" here on earth. The fact that nothing can interact with distant galaxies instantaneously suggests a universal "now" is a concept without meaning.

It's difficult to describe, even theoretically, how the entire universe might experience a "now", but the converse is not appealing. "Fooling" relativity doesn't seem possible.

Ok,it will be strange to you if I tell you how I came to that universe.First,I was in another dimension. It was sort of like banishment. Then I had enough.I destroyed that dimension and teleported myself into existance.Weard A?Then I searched that universe planet to planet, galaxy to galaxy to find help and a home planet.I found what I was looking for and I chose the biggest planet of all.It was 700000 million times bigger than your universe and in the biggest galaxy. The planet was called Varaga and the galaxy was called Agzara. There,I started building structures. Then I saw another galaxy. That galaxy was the same size as ours.I travelled there and I saw someone shooting plazma lasers at some starcrafts.I gave her a hand. After that I met her.Her name was Sajfer and I was supprised how she knew everything about me.Then she told me that I was the most powerful thing possible.I didn't believe her,but it turned out that she was right.I trained hard and I succseeded.1000000 years later I met Fajzer.Sajfer told me that he was my long lost brother.I couldn't believe my eyes. Then we combined our technologies and built structures all over the planet. After that we gathered an army and conquered the entire universe.years later I met some other leaders of huge armies and we joined forces.100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 years later sajfer told me that we can make a fusion form.
