Yes.
People do it all the time, and have been doing it for years.
Indians used smoke signals. Of course you couldn't see the smoke at night. And under some conditions our light link might not work well if the Sun were to swing through the link path.
You can signal between ships by flashing a light in Morse Code. The information is carried in the dots and dashes of light bursts.
The same thing would be possible in space.
However, far better modes of signaling are now available and involve modulating the light beam with electronic equipment. You demodulate the received light beam at the other end and bingo, out comes your original data stream.
Optical isolators are used in all manner of electronics today to interconnect various electronic circuits - passing the information from one to another without the noise being passed along with the data. It is the same thing.
Optical data links between buildings is also a popular means of providing communications without getting billed a monthly charge by the telephone companies. It is exactly the same thing, only for space usage you would need to utilize a really good telescope on the receivers, and a powerful laser transmitter, not one of the quarter, or half watt, lasers for Building to Building comm links...
Various experiments have been made bouncing laser beams off of the Moon in recent years. Same thing...only the light beam coming back was all scattered, not a nice straight beam with lots of power.

Sound cannot travel in the form of light because light can travel in empty space, but sound can't. In space (vacuum) you can't hear a star explode!
OR
On the other hand "info can travel in light" Have you ever listen to the radio? Well sound is modulated on a high frequency carrier and then transmitted. Your receiver (radio) demodulates the signal and you hear music!
The radio waves are part of the electromagnetic spectrum just as light is. The only thing is, your eyes can see "light" but not radio waves. The same way you and I can't see Infrared, x-rays, gamma rays, ultraviolet etc. which are all part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

You do not have to look far to find sound encoded as light. The soundtrack on a movie is an optical track read by light and turned into an electrical signal to the speakers.

no the physical make up of light i different from sound. they are both rays, they have wave length and stuff, but different types. i think it was Einstein that predicted that light was made of tiny particles. i am not sure if he proved it. but no sound cant travel at the speed of light, if you could make a device that could make patterns out of light waves and a receiver to translate the message. then you could probably send a sound as light which will travel much faster than sound wave it self.
sound is encoded in radio waves and microwaves that's why we are able to talk with people in space.

No, not sound as vibrations. However, if the sound were converted to digital signal, then yes it can travel in the form of light, for example: fiber optics.

Sound, pictures, data, anything you like can be transmitted in the form of light. That's what they're stringing all those fiber optic cables everywhere for.

Wow, the place to? I camp in long island lots... Catskills, ADKs, etc. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, i will in no way look to commute mild, and am constantly bringing my 50 liter %.. no longer tent or dozing bag is fairly risky... it truly is not that heat right here yet, and there is often a gamble of rain... while you're staying in a lean-to that's one factor, yet no dozing bag supplies me the chills in basic terms thinking approximately it! yet i might actually advise bringing a minimum of one greater effective pair outfits--somewhat socks-- in case the different gets moist (it is perhaps this time of 365 days), nutrition (until you plan on looking nutrition there), a water filter out and something to drink water out of, a headlamp or flashlight, and a map!

No, but sound can be encoded in electricity or light, and transmitted that way. Happens all the time -- it's called the telephone.

it's already happing. sound is recorded and converted into digital code, then fiber optics uses the pulses of light to relay information, the information is then played back as sound.

Sure, by modulation. Ever heard of optical fiber (cable), transmission ?
