It is not a star, but a planet, Venus. In the same part of the sky, just a bit north of and below Venus, is Saturn.
And to the one who stated the painfully obvious, I believe those other answerers KNOW that Venus is not a star. People often refer to planets as stars, as the asker did, if they are not sure what object they are seeing. And it is NOT Sirius (the correct spelling).

Its not really a star. It only appears as a star its really a planet. It acquired the name evening star and also morning star.
Venus appear as a bright point in the sky.
