I read that they have allocated 1 billion dollars over the next ten years. The Russians are proposing a 20 billion dollar manned trip to mars. Could'nt we use that money for education and taking care of human beings here on earth? Maybe re- forestation.

NASA is continually looking for evidence of life on Mars. With all the probes that we have sent to the Martian surface, if we do find microbes in the Martian soil how will we know they are not just mutated earth bugs that were carried on the spacecraft?

If the universe currantly assumed to be 13.7 billion years old.
and galaxies have just been discovered 13.2b light years away.

If this is the case," the big bang "(start of the universe) must have been alot longer than, 13.7billion years ago.
since matter suposenly cant travel faster than light, the matter exploded would take at least 13.2b years to reach its target, and development of the galaxy would add more time, then the light to get back here? It doesnt make sense. Maybe you can enlighten me?

Last night I was sat on sofa at approx 9.30 and out the window facing west I could see light that I thought was a star but wasn't sure if it was a star or a plane. Roughly 20 minutes ater it had moved down and right, so I assumed as it must have been a plane, but I saw it again tonight at 9.20.
Is it a star or a plane?

If Magnetic Field protects us from cosmic ray, Why didn't Magnetic Field Reversal kill all the animals/plants? There are several Magnetic field reversals which reduced Magnetic field to almost zero.

Once you give the distance, Please relate that distance to something in space.
what information has it given to us yet? What is it's primary mission?
What is the furthest satellite or probe that we are sending and why are we sending it?

Doesn't that mean that the light from the star left 20 years ago? And that the star you are seeing right now, was actually what it was 20 years ago?
If that's true, then half of the stars seen in the sky don't exist anymore!
Isn't that right?

Come onn!! If WE exist then why can't some other intelligent civilization outta this planet exist? It's that simple! I've heard people say that I don't believe in aliens, blah blah blah but come onnn!! Why not?? They are not ghosts or myths that can't be believed in.... of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not believing in life in other planets is really dumb
