You know how the universe, is never ending, i mean, how does something go on forever. What all is out there, how big is it really, how do you go from one galaxy to the next. ITS JUST SO AMAZING, but i dont understand it, do you know what i mean....can anyone explain it at all, or is it just a wonder of nature we will just know nothing about?

Excuse me... I believe I missed class the day this question was addressed. So anyone have ideas based on science? Why don't they float away? I know space is a vacuum, but what keeps them in place with timely rotations required for human existence. I do believe in God and I believe he is the ID (Intelligent Design[er]). Many people agree that ID exist, but not that God had anything to do with it *sigh.* Thank you. And if I offended, my sincere apologies. God Bless, and Peace for those who don't.

Where is the satellite imagery of the surface of the moon? There is such a controversy of whether or not man has landed on the moon. Show me pictures taken from Earth that show the flag on the moon, or the lunar modules, i.e. the automobile and the launch pad that were left behind. Until then, I will not believe it was ever done.

1.) Phobos and Deimos, the two satellites of Mars, have orbits with average radii of 9380 km and 23,500 km, respectively. The period of Phobos is 0.319 earth days. What is the period of Deimos?

2.) The moons mass is (7.3 x 10^22) kg, and the average radius of its orbit is (3.8 x 10^8 ) m. At what point could an object be placed between the earth and the moon where it would expirience no resultant force? (neglect the gravitational attractions of the sun and the other planets.)

3.) The moon circles the earth every 27.3 days in an orbit of radius *3.8 x 10^8) m, and the earth circles the sun every 365 days in an orbit of radius (1.5 x 10^11) m. From these figures, without knowing the value of G, find the ratio between the masses of the sun and the earth.

4.) Show that the period of a satellite orbiting a planet just above the surface depends only on G and the planents density p (rho). (density is mass per until volume; the volume of a sphere of radius r is 4(pi)(r)^3 / 3

Theoretically, if there was a solar system, with a black hole and a planet in orbit, and they aligned so that it was sun--blackhole--planet would the blackhole cast a shadow, or would the gravitational lensing prevent this from happening, and the light would just bend around it, causing no shadow?

So a solar eclipse with a black hole, viewed from a planet, what would be seen?

I found it in my yard in virginia years ago, which to me rules out the idea of it being a volcanic rock. So could it be a meteorite? It doesn't seem to be magnetic but it looks just like pictures I've seen of them, and I know that not all of them are magnetic enough to attract a magnet.
Thanks for any help!
