Has anyone heard of a place in North Yorkshire called Menwith Hill? Where the huge golf balls are. Its the English equivilant of Area 69 in America. Anyway, apparently thats the one place in Britan that has the most UFO sightings. Silly question but do any UFO geeks know why??

Look, UFO's are often just military air craft being tested - why do you think they are often seen around military bases?

Anyway, the whole flying saucer thing is obviously not real - the american's have a base in france, or somewhere, where about 10+ years ago they tested a curcular, saucer shaped aircraft to see if it would fly better than a plane, for use in military combat. Obviously it didn't, and so testing stopped, but many local people still say they see these flying saucers in the area.

Area 51 is apparantly not supposed to exist (a load of s*** in my opinion, as i was driven past there, and the bus driver said he used to drive military personel up there) . The thing about UFO's is that while the viewer cannot identify them, I'm sure the american/british/whatever country's air force or military knows exactly what they are.

They just don't exist. Any intelligent life form would have picked up the unusual interest in their visits, and would have stopped, or made contact, unless they were actually not intelligent at all, and thought we just hadn't noticed. Plus there is very little chance that any lifeform would travel millions of miles across the universe to look at us pathetic wastes of air.

I remember a couple of years ago watching the stars over North Yorkshire and saw what i thought was the light from a commercial jet flying in a straight line when it suddenly did a perfect 90 degree turn that was so sharp i couldn't explain it and it vanished into the distance in seconds!
I know the RAF test a lot of aircraft over the moors but i have still yet to see anything that can move like that!

I am open minded about aliens, Who knows what could be out there? Most stories you hear on TV i doubt are true, but im not sure whether to believe my dad, that he got abducted by a large UFO. I know it may sound like a joke, cos i thought he was joking at first - hes a jokey kind of person! But he promised me he was telling the truth and wasn't joking around this time. All his friends laughed at him when he was at the pub when he told them the story, but i think i really believe him - why would he lie. Well if you wanna hear what he told me i'll tell you all:-

he woke up one night cos he saw a massively bright, warm white light, which he said made him feel drowsy. He pushed himself out of bed to look out of the curtains, and see what was going on. There was nothing there. Later on in the night/early morning, he saw it again - only this time, he couldn't move. He heared strange voices and loud noises like a lorry, but lorries don't come down our road cos its too small, and suddenly he got cold. Next thing he was back in bed, sweating, and he got an adreneline rush.He was shocked that my mom was sleeping right next to him, and didn't notice a thing. He told my mom me and my brother, but at first we didn't believe him. I said it was probably a dream, but he insisted it wasn't!!!

I have...

First part happens in the early hours of a Tuesday morning. Myself and two friends were driving home from Compton Bay on the Isle of Wight and it was pissing it down, so anyway we all notice a bright light on our left hand side coming down the hill, we think nothing of it as its prolly just a car. About two minutes later the light whooshes right past the car behind us, we all notice it and look behind and its above us on the drivers side not more than 100 foot up. The brightest light I have ever seen but it wasn't dazzling, my eyes looked straight at it and it didn't hurt. It followed us for about 4 or 5 miles until we decide we have the guts to stop and get out. We pull into this garage and get out, its there for about 15-20 seconds, no sound whatsoever and it just hovers there looking at us and then its gone, just like that, like someone literally turned out a light. We got back in and drove home and didn't think too much of it...

Then on the Friday morning I suddenly wake up and I feel as though I'm drifting back into my bed. I can see red and blue flashing lights and I suddenly feel warm again like my body had been cold. I desperately try and roll over to see the clock but I can't, I physically cannot move. This felt like 5 or 10 minutes and then suddenly the lights stop, I roll over and see 3:15 on my clock.

I again don't think a thing of it, I just think its one of those dreams you get when you make up but your body is still asleep. So anyway this night the mate who I was with who lives up my road called and said do I wanna go to the pub. I say ok and meet him up the road at 8. The other mate had disappeared to the Bahamas for a 3 week holiday. Anyway I meet him and say 'mate I've got some serious ****ed up **** to tell you' and he said he did as well, he then literally recounted word for word my experience and it was at the same time any everything. If I'd told him and he said he'd had to too I'd of thought he was lying out of his backside but I'd told no-one about it. I literally **** a brick and he knew instantly I'd had the same thing.

What is was I don't know but I do know whatever we encountered on that Tuesday morning wasn't from this Earth unless we have craft that make no sound and can make lights not dazzling and as for the Friday morning, I know what I think, two guys experience the same thing, at the same time, six doors apart after what had happened 72 hours earlier? That would be quite a coincidence...

I saw a UFO for a while and then when it got closer, it turned out to be a plane with its landing lights on and then it became an identified flying object.
