It's VERY likely, due to the sheer size of the Universe, that Earth isn't the only place which harbors, not only life, but intelligent life, so the search will continue.

I am assuming that you are not being sarcastic and talking about the problem about Illegal aliens problem in the U.S.

Humans have always been facinated with the question "are we alone in this world".

UFO sightings date back to the cave man. Obviosuly, there isn't anything documented on paper, however, what arcgheologist found was drawings in the caves, which also date back to the era of the Cave man of "people" wearing helmets, enteties that do not look like humans and also drawings of what would today would be described as a spaceship. Back them, it was not something a human mind can even grasp, leave alone draw.

Since then, many, many sightings have been reported, which military has either denied or kept their mouth shut. I must admit, I too am facinated by the same question, are we alone? Based on my very limited knowledge of the universe, I don't think we are alone. I mean, how can we be the only planet with life on it? There are so many corners of the univers that is still unknown to us, others that we don't even know yet about, so it would be ignorant to assume / think that we are that important in such a vast space.

Actually, last week, the French gouvernement had decided to release all the UFO sighting files that they have documented since the beginning. Check out this web site if you are interested (not sure if there is an english version). You might have trouble obtaining the page at certain times because so many people have been visting it since then that it tends to get jammed

We don't need to look in space. They are sneaking in over the border from Mexico. We are all aliens in an alien world.

I think that we want to find aliens because we don't want to be alone. We want to believe that there is something else out there.

you mean like by using SETI? Because of the human desire to know what is out there. If we did not care then why would we have moved from where we started?

Well, I honestly have to admit that I just never considered looking for them anywhere else. Did you have a better idea?
