Greater detail and resolution

Distance from an object makes a difference (the farther away, the less small details we can see).
And our atmosphere gets in the way of details as well.
For an example - use binoculars to watch a movie at a drive in from 5 miles away. Not much detail compared to close up.

Take Saturn, for example:

Several new moons, including a couple that run through the rings, causing some of the divisions...

Ring detail, including rings never seen from Earth.

Juipter:

Eruptions on Io, seen bty spacecraft as Io eclipses Jupiter...

The list is almost endless.
