A ball moving at 13.9 m/s makes an off-center elastic collision with another ball of equal mass that is initially at rest. The incoming ball is deected at an angle of 30.1deg from its original direction of motion. Calculate the velocity of the initially moving ball after the collision.

weird question - if all the water was gone out of the ocean...?

what would the pressure be like? and would this affect everything that was normally above sea level?? for example..if you were to stand at the bottom of the deepest part of the now empty ocean would there be more pressure / less / none? just curious :D

Chain Rule question, please help!?

I have teh follow equation:
c(x) = x^3 - 6x + 45/x, and dx/dt = .05 when x = 1.5

I'm just trying to find the write out x^3 - 6x + 45/x (x = 1.5) using the chain rule, but i'm having problems. and anyone please walk me through?

-mr.klinger and his son own a cattle farm. they have been losing cattle in the swamp, the forest and the river that border their land. they want to build a fence to emclose their farm. they know that the fence will form a semicircle. two sides of a rectangle and the hypotenuse of a triangle.

A section of highway connecting two hillsides with grades of 6% and 4% is to be build between two points that are separated by a horizontal distance of 2000 feet. At the point where the two hillsides come together, there is a 50-foot difference in elevation.

a) Design a section of highway connecting the hillsides modeled by the function f(x) = ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d (-1000 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1000). At the points A and B, the slope of the model must match the grade of the hillside.
b) Use a graphing utility to graph the model.
c) Use a graphing utility to graph the derivative of the model.
d) Determine the grade at the steepest part of the transitional section of the highway.

Can someone help me with this math question ?

A frozen steak has a temperature of 28 f. It is placed in a room with a constant temp of 70 f. After 10 mins, the temp of the steak has risen to 35 , what will the temp of the steak be after 30 mins?... There's more, but if I can figure out this part... I can do the rest
