What would happen if protons would move and not electrons?

There would be a number of differences.

Our electrical convention as to what is + and what is - would mean the + & - on batteries would be opposite.

Protons are certainly not as mobile as electrons in atoms as we know them so the physics of atoms and electrical conductors would have to be much different for protons to be the primary conductor.

In semiconductors, they talk about electrons moving one way and positively charged "holes" moving the opposite way. I am not enough of an expert on the gory details of charge conduction in semiconductors to talk much about this but "holes" are not protons.

Interesting question.
