By this, I mean portable laboratory grade lasers that could cut through at least plastic (heck, even Wicked Lasers can do that). I mean powerful lasers that can at least cause severe (3nd degree & up) burns in about half a second. It must have a sustainable power source (continuous for at least 5 hours). It could be a continuous beam or a rather silly "blaster beam." Is it possible today?

" If R and S are tansitive, then R U S is tansitive."
The above statement is FALSE, but I couldn't understand why.
Can someone show me it's not true by showing me a counterexample?

Thanks :)

MnO has either the NaCl type structure or the CsCl type structure. The edge length of the MnO unit cell is 4.47*10^-8 cm and the density of MnO is 5.28 g/cm^3.
a) Does MnO crystalize in the NaCl or CsCl structure?
b) assuming that the ionic radius of oxygen is 140 pm. estimate the ionic redius of manganese.

For the structures it refered mo to this question....The CsCl structure is a simple cubic array of chloride ions with a cesium ion at the center of each cubic array. Given that the density of cesium cholride is 3.97 g/cm^3 and assuming that the chloride and cesium ions touch along the body diagonal of the cubic unit cell. calculate the distance between the centers of adjacent Cs+ and Cl- ions in the solid. Compare this value with the expected distance based on the sized of the ions. The ionic radius of Cs+ is 169 pm and the ionic radius of Cl- is 181 pm.

Thanks im trying to review and don't know what to do for this one...if you could help it would be great :]

If I become a doctor, I will definitely work for Doctors Without Borders. However, the pay is minimal and by doing it for many years I will sacrifice the chance to start and help raise a family earlier in my life (since I will be eligible for DWB after I'm 31). Therefore, as much as I would love to, I cannot do it for the rest of my life. What other things can I do besides Doctors Without Borders that will help people who really need medical help? Thanks!!

A rod of Pyrex glass is precisely measured against an aluminum measuring stick at a temperature of 20°C, and the length of the rod is measured as exactly 25.0 cm. The temperature in the lab is then raised to 35°C for one hour, and then the Pyrex rod is measured a second time against the same measuring stick. The second measurement of the rod’s length can be expected to be:
A. 25.0 cm.
B. greater than 25.0 cm.
C. less than 25.0 cm.
D. less than or equal to 25.0 cm.
