Okay, I think I am good with how to solve once I figure out where to move my like terms. For example

-4x+8<1/2x +3 (sorry I don't know how to make the fraction look right here).

So I move add 4x to both sides. By moving my "x" like terms to the right.

Now if I have 2x-7>-2/3x-2 , apparently I move my "x" like terms to the left by adding 2/3x to each side.

Here's my question, how do I know where to move my "x" like terms. Is there a standard? Sometimes to the right, sometimes to the left and I don't understand why. I am pretty confused.
Thanks.

I have a condition which caused my body for many years to over produce epinephrine. I'm now being treated, but I don't feel the same as I used to. Is it possible that this could have caused brain damage, even if I wasn't taking a drug, and the drug was being produced by my own body?

A rectangular swimming pool is to be built with an area of 1250 square feet. The owner wants 5-foot wide decks along either side and 10-foot wide decks at the two ends. Find the dimensions of the smallest piece of property on which the pool can be built satisfying these conditions.

I have worked the problem out to be Length: 50 and Width: 25. Another answer I got was Length: (125)^1/2 and Width: 1250/(125)^1/2. Apparently these are the wrong answers though. I would really appreciate an explanation of how to do this problem. Thanks.

I'm doing a research project and the topic is overdosing with vitamins and minerals. We all know that that's bad, because vitamins act as catalysts and work with enzymes involving your metabolism. But no matter where I look, even in the medical encyclopedia, there is little or no detail as to WHY this is bad or what exactly the overdose does in your system.
any ideas? Sources would be greatly appreciated for further reading. =]
