I'm doing a research project and the topic is overdosing with vitamins and minerals. We all know that that's bad, because vitamins act as catalysts and work with enzymes involving your metabolism. But no matter where I look, even in the medical encyclopedia, there is little or no detail as to WHY this is bad or what exactly the overdose does in your system.
any ideas? Sources would be greatly appreciated for further reading. =]

well... too much iron or potassium will kill you. The leading cause of infant overdoses is from iron poisoning. Chewable vitamins taste like candy nowadays and when kids get their hands on them theyll eat a whole bottle. Also potassium in high doses will kill you too, prisoners on death row who are given the lethal injection are just injected with a large dose of potassium.

Too little of a necessity to your body is bad, so too much of a necessity to your body would be bad as well. The conclusion varies with what you are overdosing on.
