Hi Denise!

We need to know where you are.

If you're in New Zealand or southeastern Australia, the next solar eclipse will be the afternoon of Thursday, February 7th.

There's an eclipse in most of Asia, much of Europe and some parts of Canada on August 1st. This eclipse is actually total in some parts of Siberia and western China.

After that, there will be eclipses on January 26, 2009 and July 22, 2009. The January one can be seen in southern Africa and south Asia, while the July 2009 eclipse will be seen in most of Asia. Even Hawaii will get to see a nip taken out of the sun the day before, on July 21st 2009.

A lot of people will see the total eclipse on July 22, 2009, and if you can travel, it may even be convenient for you. The total eclipse happens at sunrise in parts of India, and then follows the course of the Blue River in China, including Shanghai.

Here in the United States, the next solar eclipse that most people will see is on May 20, 2012, an annular eclipse. The next total eclipse of the sun visible in the United States will be August 21, 2017.
