A student presses a book between his hands, as the drawing indicates. The forces that he exerts on the front and back covers of the book are perpendicular to the book and are horizontal. The book weighs 37 N. The coefficient of static friction between his hands and the book is 0.44. To keep the book from falling, what is the magnitude of the minimum pressing force that each hand must exert?

The chances are extremely slim for an asteroid threat.
You've seen the movies where our idea was to land on asteriod, drill it, and plant a nuclear weapon to break it into peices.
But let's be realistic...it's already difficult to land on the moon. And it's not even a fast-moving rock that's headed towards earth.

So what would we do?

Can they detect heat from space satellites or does the atmosphere block specific heat signals like lifeforms?

If my satellite TV goes off during a storm does that mean the worlds most powerful satellites can also not see through?

How large would a storm have to be for satellites to be blocked?

Is it true that satellites can zoom in visually so far they can read the date of a penny on the road?

Since places like NASA have to launch all the satellites is there a listing of everyone who owns a satellite and of what type it is, or what it is used for?

I am an engineering student and I am interested in designing a device that can transmit data to a computer wirelessly. I am trying to look into Bluetooth chip and Wi-Fi chips but am not finding a whole lot for Wi-Fi.

Does anyone know pro's and con's of using Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi.

Also does anyone know some good manufacturers/distributors that I can make bluetooth or Wi-Fi chips that are transmitters? trying to find one that is the no bigger than a half dallor coin.

Or if there are any other good choices for wireless transmission I would be pleased to hear it.

Thank you

When potassium cyanide (KCN) reacts with acids, a deadly poisonous gas, hydrogen cyanide (HCN), is given off. Here is the equation below.

KCN(aq) + HCl(aq) KCl(aq) + HCN(g)
If a sample of 0.230 g of KCN is treated with an excess of HCl, calculate the amount of HCN formed, in grams.

Nitric oxide (NO) reacts instantly with oxygen gas to form nitrogen dioxide (NO2), a dark-brown gas.

2 NO(g) + O2(g) 2 NO2(g)
In one experiment 0.675 mole of NO is mixed with 0.378 mole of O2.
Calculate the number of moles of NO2 produced.

Consider the reaction below.

MnO2 + 4 HCl MnCl2 + Cl2 + 2 H2O
How many grams of Cl2 will be produced?

Titanium(IV) oxide (TiO2) is a white substance produced by the action of sulfuric acid on the mineral ilmenite (FeTiO3).

FeTiO3 + H2SO4 TiO2 + FeSO4 + H2O
It is opaque and its nontoxic properties make it suitable as a pigment in plastics and paints. In one process 9.90 103 kg of FeTiO3 yielded 1.80 103 kg of TiO2. What is the percent yield of the reaction?
