Most of us agree that women wear perfumes and men wear cologne. But what is the difference in composition of the two? Does one differ markedly in chemical composition? And what is the difference in eau de toilette and parfum or parfume?

How would you go about manufacturing cologne or perfume? How would you make scented oils such as patchoulli?

we are going to have to face facts that there are somethings we are never going to be able to fathom with our brains as we will always ask, as said in previous q, who created the creator even if we were given an answer we would then start asking about who created them! there is going to come a time when we may get answers and i believe we may not like what we are told, as humans we have a constant urge to explore and find answers but what if we do get the answer we crave so much and its not what we want to here are we brash enough to say thats not good enough i need to know and understand how it all came to be but if we are are told it happened because it happened and there is no explanation for it where as an intelligent race to we go from there? we search and hunt for answers to our questions and i think the answer to this question is there is no answer!

A person jumps and reaches a height of 0.8 m. What is their initial velocity?

I have
gravity = -9.8m/s^2
height = 0.8m
final velocity (mid air) = 0
I don't have:
time or intial velocity.

I'm not sure which equation to use?

(this is a theoretical question from a physics text)

There is an apparent contradiction in the following statements. Someone please point of which of them is incorrect.

1. Sea ice is melting because of global warming.
2. When in water, ice floats and displaces an amount of water weighing the same as the weight of the ice.
3. When ice freezes, it expands.
4. When ice melts, it contracts.
5. When ice floating in water melts, the sea does not change.
6. Icebergs melting will cause water to rise all around the world.

Zuh? Doesn't this mean the only rise in sea levels attributed to global warming can come from ice melting that is on land?

The atmosphere of this planet is pure helium He4, and its pressure is so low, that each atom of helium almost always unable to collide with another atom of heluim between two bounces off the surface of the planet. In other words, the mean free path significantly exceeds the height of the atmoshpere. The atoms of heluim therefore follow parabolic trajectories between bouncing off the surface.

Temperature of the surface of the planet is To = 128.5 K.
What temperature will be measured by thermometer placed at height H = 1000 above the surface?

(Assume that thermometer 'absolutely reflects' all radiation,
and its temperature is entilery determined by collisions with atmosperic helium atoms)
