The sun always rises in the east, even in Japan. The only place it might do differently is in a polar winter where it never rises and in a polar summer where it never sets.

no, Japan is in the east of the world, but there, the sun still rises in the east, if the sun rose in the west, wouldn't it be called the land of the rising sun(in the west!) instead of , the land of the rising sun?!

Lol, that's not Japan, I THINK it's all of Asia and part of China, and the islands off the coast of India and India itself.
It's not stupid, I find it a normal question!
But Japan has that conversion thing where the East is the West, so maybe that's it?

That is true, but the Japanese are also the only people who steadfastly refer to north as south and vice versa. It's an oriental thing, don't try to understand it.
