I have a question about impulse. So, impulse equals change in momentum or average force * change in time. So I have a couple of questions actually. Does impulse only apply for extremely small changes in time? Like if a car crashed and was in contact with something for a second before it stopped, is that still considered 'impulse'? Also, via the formula, the impulse becomes greater when the change in time becomes greater. But I thought there was a larger impulse when time was smaller? If anyone could help clear these up for me that would be great. Thanks :)

x²+2ax=b
work:
(x+a)²-2a=b

This would make sense, we would have to complete the square by mutiplying "2" and then squaring it.
(x+a)²-4a²=b
(x+a)²=4a²+b
x+a=√4a²+b
x+a=2a√b
then..
x=a√b

How would it make sense skiping by mutiplying "2", and replacing it by ² to get -a² instead of just 4a²?
(x+a)²-a²=b

see?

In R^n (with respect to the Lebesgue measure) without using the Axiom of Choice? All the examples I've seen, like Vitali's set, are constructed resorting to the Axiom of Choice. If AC is mandatory, then does this mean non measurable sets have a, say, virtual but not actual existence?
Thank you.

I just wanna know what it is that keeps someones mind so closed that they can't even for a second try to understand that there may be more than they know about in this world.

I personally think that if you close your mind to new things that you stagnate and quit learning. Maybe I need answers from a skeptic that has had something happen to them that has opened their mind up since they have been on both ends of the spectrum.

I know little of physics. Imagine if medical procedures once "invasive" due to cutting, like the retrieval of an organ, became less invasive because of a device that would allow the organ/body part to somehow pass through the skin unharmed. "Star Trek's" teleportation is fiction. What is a believable method? I read a little about "gravity waves", that they can pass through things unchanged, but I don't understand their application to the conversion of matter to energy in this situation. Could an organ be converted to a gravity wave, pass through skin, and then be usuable?
In Greg Iles "Footprints of God", the brain was scanned with an MRI and was uploaded to a computer, and the computer became the person. Replication/cloning leaves too much room for error. Could anything allow something to pass through the skin unchanged? Could a solid matter to energy conversion take place to allow an organ to pass through the skin, to then be converted back? What device(real or not) could do it?

Work.
3x²-5x-8=0
(x-5/6)²-25/36=8/3
(x-5/6)²=8/3+25/36
...................
96/36+25/36=121/36
right?
If it is possible for me...Then I would do it in a formula, but I have to do the other way cause of my teach.
...............
(x-5/6)²=121/36
x-5/6=+/- 11/6
x=-6/6,16/6
x=-1,6

help, why do I suck at math?
And why must we *2 and square it anyways?
How is this suppose to help us in the real world, everything in quad. equations would always =o, then why would we solve it when we already know the equation ='s "0"?

The mechanism that I have doesn't seem complete. I have tried many books.
I know that there will be an increase in ketone bodies, how the ketones are toxic and it decrease pH.

So? What exactly happens to the brain that causes coma? The answers I have found so far are so very vague.

EXAMPLE A
x²+2/3x-3=0
(x+1/3)²-1/9=3
(x+1/3)²=28/9
x+1/3=2sqrt7/3
ect....

1) In this equation we don't times "2" in the denomenator of 1/3 in (x+1/3)² why???

EXAMPLE B
x²+1/4x-1/2=0
x²+1/4x=1/2
(x+1/8)²-1/64=1/2
ect...

2)In example B, we times "2" and squared it to get -1/64 why???

3)Why are example A and example B different, with *2 and squaring it and without it?

If we had.
3x²-5x+2=0
The rules says that if we do one thing to one side we must to the same thing to the other.
If we would get 3x² to just x², we would have to divide both sides by "3" "Once to one side than the other side" Like a regular equation.
ex.

3x²/3-5x=-2/3
would be.
x²-5x=-2/3
But to really solve it we must divide "5" by "3" too, it makes no sense.

How is that we must take -5 and divide it by 3???
Why isn't it playing by the rules?
