my daughter had no problem taking chemistry in HS. she wasnt in any honors or AP classes either. just ask questions and pay attention in class.
Personally I tried taking college chemsitry and thought they were speaking a different language! lol
good luck, you'll do fine. Just put your mind to it and failure wont be an option!

Hello:
It depends on what level of chemistry you are taking, your background and ability. The basics are easy to understand but the advanced concepts are all math based formulas, etc. My experience was my own but if you are an A student I would not worry. If a B student, you will have to study. How much depends on your work ethic, study patterns and methods. In general, if you are good at math I wouldn't be concerned; just focus your needs on your desired career.

Yes it is very difficult HOWEVER if you study correctly you will be fine and it will become lots of fun. I am currently doing quite well in the subject because i study and relax with it. the best way to study somehting like this is to set up a series of folders with word documents. Firstly you set up a folder Chemistry year 12. Then inside this you put a folder semester 1 and inside this term 1 and 2 inside term 1 weeks 1 - 10 inside week 1 a folder monday tuesday wednesday thursday and friday. Inside each of them you simply put a document titled chemistry. Then you type up your notes into that each day. In one weeks time you hand write out what you did that day a week ago. Then in three weeks time you hand write out what you did three weeks ago. This can be done with all your subjects. And when it comes to exam time you are sufficiently revised and when it comes to study NO WORRIES MATE. you simply search for your documents (select advanced settings select term 1 (or whatever it is) and then search for chemistry) print them out and then file them in a folder. And study as you are going to bed the day before the exam. A HINT ONLY EVER DO 40 MINS OF STUDY BEFORE TAKING A 10 MIN BREAK AS IT WILL STOP YOU REMEMBERING (it is scientifically proven (i think))

Not really. I think that physics is much more difficult actually. High school chem was pretty easy. Just have some fun, and mix stuff that the teacher tells you not too if you find chem too boring and decide you need to liven things up a bit.

This is one of the most teacher dependent (in my opinion)classes you can take. If you have a teacher that can break things down in a logical step-by-step way it can be a breeze. If you have a teacher that jumps around a lot it can be a real bummer.
Just my experiences on it.

i was super scared at first because i had heard it dealt with math alot, but its not hard math used(like adding, etc). and she, my teacher, went through it very thoroughly so i understood everything. it totally depends on having a good teacher. i ended up getting 105% in the class, lol, not cuz it was easy because it wasnt. it was because she was a good teacher and i tried in every test and assignment.
p.s. that person saying its easy only if algebra 1 was easy, not true. i was horrible at algebra 1, and math in general, but i still did amazing in chem.

No, it's not. Just study, and do the homework. Helps if you have an analytical mind. It's like cooking. Except you learn why things work the way they do. Don't stress :D

If you did well in algebra, you'll be OK in chemistry; but if algebra was a challenge, chemistry won't be so easy, either.

Half of chemistry is math. If math is a challenge so will be chemistry.
