Fractions I forgot how to do....it's summer aww

Is it.
8/3*12 so we must have denomenator to "36"
8/36 then we would have to take 8*12???

Or

2 2/3*12 then it would be 2 24/36???

8/3 + 25/36

you are right you want least common denominator which is 36!

so you have to multiply the 8 and the 3 by 12 to make 96/36

96/36 +25/36 = 121/36 = 3 and 13/36

if you think 8/3 x (12/12 ) [Multiply top x top and bot x bot] notice 12/12 is really one! which means you aren't really changing the value just changing the digits used!

Bless you for trying.
You obviously know that you cannot, I repeat, CANNOT add or subtract fractions unless the denominators are the same.
Your first shot at it is right. The 8/3 fraction has to have 36 as a denominator, and we get this by multiplying the top and bottom by 12/12. We get 8 (12)/3(12). This is
96/36. The problem is now 96/36 +25/36 = 121/36

Carry on! You're doing fine.

O god I haven't done fractions in a while either lol the demomenator would be 36 then you times the numerator 8 by 12 which would give you 96/36 then add the 25 to the 96 which then would be 121/36 then the answer would be 3 13/36.

Try to reduce 25/36 if you can't (which you can't)

The next step is to find a common den.

3 goes into 36, 12 times.

So 12 times 8 is 96

So now you have 96/36 + 25/36 which equals = 121/36

You always want to simplfly when you can, so try to reduce 121/36 as much as you can,

it would be 8/3* 12 so u would do 8*12 and 3*12 and get 96/36+ 25/36 = 121/36 =3 13/36

Try to reduce 25/36 if you can (which you can't)

ALWAYS TRY TO REDUCE

The next step is to find a common den.

3 goes into 36, 12 times.

So 12 times 8 is 96

So now you have 96/36 + 25/36 which equals = 121/36

You always want to simplfly when you can, so try to reduce 121/36 as much as you can,

convert to a common denominator. So 8/3 beomes 96/36. Then add the numerators 96+25=121 / 36.
Reduce to 3 13/36.

3 13/36 is the answer.

since its addition...
u have to multiply 3 and 12 to get common denominator (which is 36)
and then multiply 8 with 12 to get 96
the result would be
96/36 + 25/36

and so, add 96 and 25 which is 121
answer is 121/36

you need to have a common denomenator...which would be 36 so you mult..the eight and the three both by 12 and you get 96/36 plus 25/36....now you just add the top two numbers together...which is 121 so the answer is 121/36 or 3.361111
