I have noticed alot of photos of my male relatives young and old, and now that they are old their temple regions (above ear and near eyes) have gotten wider a bit. Basically there faces look more mature and older. Is this widening process possible. And non of them are bald, so it can't be because of baldness. They still have all the hair they had in their 20's still in their 40's. So can the skull change dimension as we age to give a slightly different and more mature look?

Design an aluminium alloy that has a density of 2.6450g/cm³

and antoher aluminium alloy that has density of 2.7450g/cm³

A 2.0kg mass is traveling at 5.0 m/s on a smooth horizontal surface when it collides with and sticks to a stationary 6.0 kg mass. The larger mass is attached to a light spring of force constant 150 N/m. Find (a) the amplitude of the resulting oscillations of this system (b) the frequency and (c) the period of the oscillations.

This is the exact question that I have, there was no drawing formulas or other info provide to answer this question. Please help I need to know how to answer this question because it will be on a Exam.

I would think that a search for meaning (ie. how human consciousness relates to the Universe as a whole) and ideas relating to a unified theory would apply to all and thus negating political, cultural, economic, and gender differences. When females do appear in the sciences, they are examples of extremely intelligent, highly motivated, and intensely focused individuals (ie. exceptional acheivers of scientific endeavor) while it appears that any mediocre male can get a backstage pass to the cosmic theatre. Is this gender bias ingrained at a young age? I don't remember an astronaut Barbie ever been issued. Perhaps it is taboo or shameful for a young woman to have interests in the very big or very small. Energy in all of its tranformations and manifestations should apply to man and woman alike.

how do you change pounds into stone???

2007-07-31 11:48:54 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous in Mathematics

OK. So the earth is a perfect sphere and there are no issues with molten heat and such - this is all taken care of with very good insulation.

There is an open tube extending through the earth from the North Pole to the South Pole. Since the tube is through the axis of rotation - we can ignore any corriolis/centripital effects.

You drop an apple - or a billiard ball - into the tube - straight down so that it does not touch the sides - so we can dispense with any friction issues. And the tube is maintained at a vacuum - so we can dispense with any air resistance issues.

So, now that we have that down - we drop the ball into the tube - what happens? How does the ball behave as it falls toward the center of the earth, past the center of the earth, and beyond the center of the earth? How would it behave if we took air resistance into effect?

Enjoy!!!

i don't really know which info to use, so here's all of it!

total amount of heat produced: 4.37x10^3 kj

undissolved metal: 0.10 mol. heat absorbed by undissolved metal: 24.75 kj
change in temperature: 9.9 degrees Celcius.

How do i do this? Do i need more information?

I used formula a/b - c/d = (a-c)/(b+d):
8/6 - 2/3 = (8-2)/(6+3) = 6/9,
but the book says the answer is 2/3.
What did I do wrong?
