I know of the ellipse equation, (x-h)^2/a+(y-k)^2/b=1. I have been unable to isolate either x or y, which if anyone can help me with this than, I can write my own program, and I will be happy. Or.... If anyone knows of an algorithm or code that can draw unfilled ellipses, written in C, VB, or ASM, I would also been very happy. Either way the problem is solved. It would be a very big bonus if it were written in ASM, seeing that, that is what I'm programming in. LAST NOTE: The procedure should only require the middle x,y coordinates of the ellipse and the width and height of the ellipse. Thank you to all who reply.

The winning times in the 500 meter speed skating world championships for men are approximated by m= 46 - 0.1y and for women by w=57 - 0.2y, where y is the time in years since 1900(so y=5 is 1905, for example) and m and w are the times in seconds. Using these approximations in what year will the mens' and women's times be equal?

You and your friend run around a racetrack at constant speed but you are faster than your friend. While you complete a lap in time T1, your friend completes it in a longer time T2. Suppose that at time t=0 the two of you are abreast and that you are just about to overtake him. Suppose further that the next time you pass him he has run n full laps. Prove that your passing frequency f, i.e. the number of times per second that you pass him is given by (T2-T1)/(T1*T2).

I got my electric bill and it is close to $200 for an apartment. The reason being my ML is never here but she keeps the lights in her room on all night long for a bird. She says because she isn't here (at night) she doesn't use any elec. So I am trying to figure out exactly how much she uses so we can charge her for it. Its a 60 watt bulb runs on average 20hrs/day plus on top of that she runs a fan and her tv(again all night). I've tried to turn them off when she isn't here and she says well I pay the bill I have the right to use as much as i want. Well when bills over run her budget my husband and I have to make up for it which takes away from our twin infants. We had over 2000 saved up and I checked the account today we have 250 from having to cover her so much. I just want to be able to shove this in her face and make her accountable.

A powerful women's group has claimed that men and women differ in attitudes about sexual discrimination. A group of 50 men (group 1) and 40 women (group 2) were asked if they thought sexual discrimination is a problem in the United States. Of those sampled, 11 of the men and 19 of the women did believe that sexual discrimination is a problem. If the p value turns out to be 0.035 (which is not the real value in this data set), then

A) at α = 0.05, we should fail to reject the null hypothesis
B) at α = 0.03, we should reject the null hypothesis
C) at α = 0.04, we should reject the null hypothesis
D) None of the above would be correct statements.
