Yes and no, you can survive ONLY if you are hit indirectly, and i know there are tons and tons of stories about people being hit by lightning but i'm sorry to say, it's impossible to be hit directly by a lightning bolt and survive, average lightning bolt is 40 kA at around a billion volts. a human can survive around 50,000 volts if they get lucky, i'm sure people argue that i'm wrong but, unless you know someone who can survive 20 times more than 50 thousand volts, it's impossible. usually what happens is the electricity goes from the bolt through the ground or something else and hits the person indirectly, and the flash and sound from the lightning is so big that no one knows what's going on and next thing they know there's a burnt guy on the ground next to them.

Actually only about 1/4 of the people struck by lightning actually die. There is one person that has been struck 7 times and is still alive.

yes, you can survive. the electricity can interrupt the body's nerve impulses and can cause your heart to stop, but not always.
