Why would you need to find out the square of a number? Can you give a COUPLE examples to why you would use this?

What I mean is square roots are all about being raised two 2. What makes it being raised to 2 so much better then being raised to something like 5? Why does a square of a number matter in the first place?

I'll come back and give 10 points for the best answer. I know I asked a couple of questions but if you could just answer as many as you can that would be great thanks.

Is Earth really a slave-planet controlled by evil aliens, who use the humans for resources ?
All humans have to work for money, the have to breed , live, and die. But i read on the net, that in reality, we are just a prison-labour planet, where all humans are just work-slaves/sheep
and that the aliens of outer space, use us for their own profit.

Is this truth, or am i just drunk... lol
