Here in Connecticut we've been cold & dry since JAN 18th. A serious Arctic discharge is about to arrive and we will see low temperatures tonight drop to around 0F and high temps on Friday will struggle to get into the middle Teens, accompanied by wind chill values well below zero.
Things should moderate over the weekend before another cold front drops through on Sunday and ushers in more Arctic air with the potential for a Siberian bred air mass coming down into the Central and Eastern U.S. at the end of the month and to begin February.

I live in southern Ohio and we hardly get any lake effect. Where I live, we always get what Chicago gets.
