If one was interested in Robotics, and wanted to become an engineer of robotics or a professor, would they obtain a B.S.M.E (that is coupled with a dual program to obtain a master's at the same time) and then attempt to get in at MIT, Georgie, Carnegie Mellon, etc, or is there a different route?

I've been building small electrical mono-neural robots since I was a kid, and I believe this is what I want to do. Is there a future in this field? Academically?

Answering that I am a nerd is not helpful so just move on...I may be a nerd but Im a 5'11 blonde blue eyed model nerd..and I dont care if you think Im a nerd and you are also a very insecure person to call people nerds. That being said I'd love to hear peoples REAL opinions.

Hi. Ive recently moved house and have a small yard, no grass out back. I have put up a bird table and a high line with bird feeders hanging off, along with fat balls, sunflower seeds etc, but the birds are just not coming. i know they are in the near area as a couple of doors down they have a few trees and I can see them in there, so why won't they come over to my feeders?? Does anyone have any more ideas on what i can do to attract them over??

Our brain can do complex calculations in real time of sound direction, visual depth and judging speed and direction and tell the organs of the body to produce more enzymes and keeps the heart pulsing correctly all day and keeps our body balanced upright.

And yet if I say what is the answer to 23+64 it takes about 3-4 seconds to work out the answer. How can it do much more complex calculations that if we had to work it mathematically we'd be extinct?

Since quittling Yaz, my blood pressures are now relatively normal again (104-113 systolic, 75-78 diastolic) -- just like they always had been. They started to spike to nearly 140/100 in the past week I was on Yaz, plus I started getting blinding headaches and seeing stars. I was told that my body (now that I'm nearly 35) may be changing to the point where I can't tolerate the Pill in any dosage. (High blood pressure is prominant on both sides on my family, regardless of weight.)

the theory is that light does not move. but everything else does and at "light speed". the observed differences in objects moving through space are really just the difference in which they move through time.
this thinking helps me understand how light speed cannot be exceeded since you cannot go slower than to stop and to approach the speed of light is actually to slow down rather than to speed up.
it also accounts for time dialation. reasoning that time is a measuremnt of movement it stands to reason that time slows as you approach c until both stop.
am i just looking at what is already known from a different angle or is this new or am i just another crackpot?
it is easy to see in someone else but hard to see in ones self.
thanks.

I'm looking for sites that teach you some math tricks and shortcuts that allow you to do more complex calculations in your head without the need of a computer or calculator. For instance, one trick I know is multiplying any two-digit number by 11. To do that: take the two numbers and add them up, then put the result in the middle. Example: 11 * 62 means that you should add up 6 and 2 then put the result between them, which would make it 682. If they add up to more than 9, put the right digit in the middle and add the left digit (of the result) to the left digit of the number you're multiplying by 11. Example: 11 * 69 means adding 6 and 9 (resulting in 15). Now put the 9 at the right where it is, then put the 5 in the middle and add the 1 to the 6 = 759. (Try it on the calculator.)

That's what I'm talking about. I'm looking for a site(s) that teaches you things like that. Anyone know anything like that?
