Well, human hermaphrodites (called pseudohermaphrodites) do exist. It's rare, but it is out there. Fortunately I have not yet come across any :-)

So what then, does the obstetrician/midwife say when a hermaphrodite is born? You can't say "it's a boy" and you can't say "it's a girl"...I wonder if they cover this in school?

Ok. here's the problem

f(x)=x-6, h(x)=2x^3-6, g(x)= the square root of (x+6) --i didnt know how to type a square root sign.

Find the rule for the function f-h
-----
g

I dont know what "find the rule" means. I thought it meant plug in the values and simplify but when i put in the answer in my online homework it tells me i'm wrong. i dunno what to do so please help me out! Thanks

btw its supposed to be f-h all divided by g

Many directional terms are provided for the body. The anatomical position is the starting point for most descriptions. Why is it important to have a reference point such as the anatomical position? Hint: think of how you would precisely describe the various movements of your arm.

Hi there!

We are building a robot at my university, as a part of a competition. One of the features it has to have is that, it should be able to detect black drums, as it passes by. So the robot will keep moving on its wheels, and when it detects a black drum (at about 10 cm on one side), it should stop and do something on it.

Our first obvious choice was to use a IR transmitter/detector circuit. But this isnt very straightforward, as black objects absorb IR, rather than reflecting it.

I would be glad if someone can tell me how this could be accomplished, and the circuit which we would require. This would help us 'greatly'.

Now our total budget for the robot is 150 dollars (it is the rule). So any pricey component wont do. So at max, we can afford a sensor which is 20 dollars (we need two of these, one is for detecting the drum's height, which is another task)

Thanks!

Suppose we have 2 rigid rods, immensely long, with absolutely no elasticity. If we hold the rods
so that they cross a few meters in front of us at some point A. Now slowly move them
towards a parallel direction, the intersection point, P of the 2 rods will move away from us at an
ever-increasing rate.

The intersection point P will surpass the speed of light apparently, but why?
