Evolution is based on Data and Fact. Faith is just that, FAITH!!! It can not be proven. So, if you want to do SCIENCE, you can't do creation, despite what the bible-thumpers say. Here is your chance to give me hard EVIDENCE of what you arrogantly think some god did in 6000 years.

Remember, this is for Science, so give me Evidence. Don't give me god or jebus or anything based on faith.

This is especially required when doing partial fractions in Calculus. However, it was something I just accepted without ever seeing a proof that it's true.

How do you prove that, for real numbers a,b,c,d,e,f, that if
ax^2 + bx + c = dx^2 + ex + f, then
a = d, b = e, and c = f?

I tried doing it last night and couldn't get anywhere. I would love to see a rigorous proof of this from one of the many math geniuses on here.

I have friends who live in Sault Ste-Marie, MI. For anyone not from the Great Lakes State, that's pronounced "Soo Saint Marie", and is commonly referred to as simply "the Soo".

I have seen this in other languages (the Hague in the Netherlands or la Beauce in Québec, for example), but can't think of another example in a predominantly English-speaking country. Can any of you?

Hey, I am doing a chemistry project on corrosion removal. Most of the metals I am working with are iron and aluminum. I am wondering if anyone knows specific materials, acids, or if anyone has any information that could help me conduct experiments to remove corrosion. Also I would appreciate it if someone would be able to find corrosion removal corporations that I could email for help as well....thanx

I've seen a lot of people saying that mass nears infinity as you reach the speed of light.

Now to me this all sounds like superstitious hogwash, but then they mention that it involves "special relativity". Honestly to me it sure does sound "special", but more in the mentally challenged sort of way.

Maybe it's just me, but here are the parts I don't understand about this theory:

1) Photons have mass. It has been proven that photons have mass, although the mass seems to vary based on the radiant frequency. A photon's mass is not however infinite, and it travels at the speed of light.

2) Electrons have mass, and it is fairly insignificant. They can be made to travel the speed of light, along with many other particles. In fact if you fire a high power laser through plasma, the particles of plasma will actually get taken for a little ride on the laser beam (at the speed of light) and again, no infinite mass.

So what the heck is all this, a joke?

Look i know this question is very very stupid. However i would like a detailed explanation of the fundamental lemma of the calculus of variations(please I'm only 14) and a proof if possible. It's the one that states, that given the definite integral of M(x)G(x)dx on an interval where G(b) and G(a) are zero and where the integraL IS ZERO it states that M(x) is also zero. I want somone to explain why M(x) has to be zero.
