20 minutes a pound + 20 minutes at 170C.
About 20 minutes from the end, take of any trussing and cut through the skin at the hip, so heat gets in to the inside of the thigh.

keeping it in context of earth science, i would imagine when u see the earth opening up in front of you or a pyroclastic flow/rhyolitic lava streaming toward u and u dont have a helicopter to hand...your goose would well and truly be cooked!
