I heard this, and wonder is that true? If so, when you pour boiling water on packet cold-remedies such as 'Lem-Sip' which contain a lot of vitamin 'C' does it reduce/elliminate the efficaciousness properties?

A friend of mine doesnt believe global warming is a problem, when I asked him why he responded.

"Carbon dioxide has the ability to absorb and carry heat right? Well in the last century, there have been a great production of machines that produce carbon dioxide. It didn't take many envirementalist to get the idea that all the new carbon dioxide would make the world alot warmer.
They fear that this new level of heat, caused by carbon dioxide producing machines, could cause the polar ice cap to melt. As a result, there has been a wide call on people to not use gasoline. Now this seems like a very logical theory...

until you consider that plants consume CO2!!!
And the more CO2 there is, the more plants there will be. So, in my opinion, the world will inevitably "correct itself" and It will get colder again."

What is wrong with this idealogy? Please be specific and back yourself up. Thanks!

By barrier islands I mean the narrow strips of land that lay across an intracoastal waterway like those off the Carolinas or southeast Florida. The Pacific coasts have been around much longer so one would naturally assume that it would harbor more barrier islands, but it harbors almost none.
