Question

I always wanna know how earth got its water from?
can it be earth at it's birth was so hot as it cools down made steam of some sort and was trap by it's gravity?
ahh but there also saying comets and ice rocks came crashing down?

Recently, scientists have begun to investigate another potential source of water: comets. This theory has been disputed by other studies that indicate that the composition of water contained in comets is different than water found on Earth, although the discovery of new comet fragments has reopened the debate."
