Ecosystems have changed throughout time without human involvement, and they will continue to while we are here.

All ecosystems are fragile, and even small changes can change or even destroy them.

But the Earth can bring about big changes, too. Let's take Africa. Millions of years ago, the entire north of Africa was a rain forest. Then India had the gal to drift into mainland Asia via plate tectonics, and the Himalayas were thrust up, blocking incoming rainclouds and drying up the region. Without the wet and the trees the ecosystem was obliterated. Now it's the Sahara, which forms it's own unique ecosystem.

And all without human involvement (homo sapiens wouldn't hit the scene until about 5 million years later.)

along with the answers above thier are many natural changes in an ecosystem, note that ecosystems include the actully enviorment and the things living in them. the Predator to Autotroph (self producer like a plant) numbers can change by suply and demand, the more predators the less autotrophs, leading to less predators and then more autotrophs.

so along with answers like natural disasters, and earthly climate changes a ecosystem constantly changes. Also because of such things as the jet streem and other earthly winds it is imposible in this day in age for an area of land not to be afected by human population, but in the days before the industrial revolution or even in the days before the human population explosion thier were manythings that changed an eco system.

Even adding on thier is always the idea of evolution, as ecosystems change animals adapt to thier suroundings and we get new species, also changing the ecosystem again. (As I said it has to do not only with the enviorment but the things living in the ecosystem) Over all thier is no way to truly answer this question fully because in truth thier are so many things that change an ecosystem its imposible to list them all, but those are the major ones not dealing with humans.
