A solid brass ball of mass 0.280 g will roll smoothly along a loop-the-loop track when released from rest along the straight section. The circular loop has radius R = 14.0 cm, and the ball has radius r << R. (a) What is h if the ball is on the verge of leaving the track when it reaches the top of the loop? (b) If the ball is released at height h = 6.00R, what is the magnitude & direction of the horizontal force component acting on the ball at point Q?

The integral (with lower limit 0 and upper limit 1) of (4sqrt of u + 1)^2 du.
Note: The 4 is part of the square root, not 4 times the sqrt of u.

I know there is probably a simple answer to this question, but for the life of me I can't figure it out. I've drawn a blank... Ugh! So, can anyone help me with this:

Solve for sin θ = cos (θ/2)

Any help would most appreciated.

Thanks!

The hands of clock A point to 6 o clock. At the moment past 6 the minute hand traveling downwards will have a increase of speed of x% every minute due to gravity. At 6:15 the speed of the minute minute hand will be of constant speed until 6:30. Since the hour hand at 6 is traveling upwards against gravity, its motion will be slowed by y% every hour until 9:00. After 9 the hand will have a constant speed until midnight. If clock B is place in a weightless enviroment, the minute and hour hand will perfectly match each other some time after 6 o clock. The hands of clock A will do the same, although at a different time. In terms of x and y, the absolute difference in times when this will happen is what?

Ok, so I’m doing a controversial research paper in which I must pick a side and defend it. I am for it for these reasons: The advancement of therapeutic cloning (growing organs,) the cure for numerous diseases, and the study of human development (why we are the way we are, prevention of birth defects etc.) Ok, so give me your input; tell me why you’re for OR against it. Also, if you’re for it, can you provide good information and the possible outcome of that research? I've already searched the net but I’d like personal opinions. Thanks! And please don’t take this topic personal. Just because I'm for it doesn’t mean in not religious.

How do these things cause speciation?

This was a question on my study guide for a test about evolution that I have to take soon. I understand how reproductive isolation causes speciation, and I'm pretty sure I understand the geographical isolation, too. But by variation, I think my teacher was talking about genetic variation, and I'm not sure how that would cause different species to be formed.
