Any number you read is going to be an educated guess. It's like looking at a solid concrete building, being told there are jellybeans inside then trying to tell someone how many there are. Suffice to say, it is not an endless supply and if we don't move quickly, we may find ourselves literally out of gas. This is in regard to unrefined, in the ground crude oil.
As to crude reserves, already pumped out, I yield to the above poster with the Wikipedia reference. :)
