Our biology teacher once declared a fun, chatty class, and we had fun, but forgot to take notes! She spoke about all the visible genetic aptitudes & differences - you know; haemophilia, being able to curl your tongue, taste the bitterness of cucumbers, having different earlobe shapes, inherited eye-colours etc. At a reunion, we wished we'd remembered all of those she'd mentioned. Does anybody know anything more, or have more details or links about those attributes? Also - we're pretty sure that anyone can waggle one eyebrow, or ear, if they practice for some time - that's not an inherited ability, is it? Thanks for any info! Only curious : )

If plasma (4th stage of matter) can be controlled by thermo, magnetic or electro fields, just what are examples of how it's done by/with each?

I'm trying to understand practical (even theoretical) applications for plasma but with a little bit of a layman's explanation. Not just the "what" but a brief explanation of the "how."

I'm also wanting examples in labs or controlled environments, not outer space. Thanks!

tritium and deuterium fuse to form helium, thus ejecting a neutron, this neutron is suppose to turn into energy, but how?
i already know about E=MC^2, but i also know that neutrons only become energy when it comes into contact with an anitneutron, and none of these antineutrons exist here on earth with normal matter, so how can the neutron turn into energy?

Little green men from Venus think that our toilets are our dining tables and the brown stuff is the main course, like a stake, and the water brown stfuff is an appetizer, like soup. They want me to show them that the Earth wants peace and that I should host a dinner. but for the life of them they can't understand why I have 2 toilets in a family of 4 and why they are spread out. I try to explain to them that this is not true, but they will not listen. What should I do? Do they want "SOUP" or do they want a "STEAK"?!?!?!

The history of cultures meeting is one of warfare and genocide. No species becomes the top dog of its world by being wimpy and peaceful. Alien life must exist. As surely as life appeared on this planet it must have appeared on others. It is only a matter of time before either we are visited or we go visit our nearest neighbours first. I think if we wait for them to come to us then we will be finished as an apex predator. The new arrivals will wipe us out along with any other 'problems' they encounter. Our planet is ripe for colonisation by bolder more aggressive colonists.
