Is there a device out there that I can install on a small rotary motor to covert the rotary movement of the rod to linear movement? (instead of going through the process of assembling the gear, shaft..., this must have been done before...).

I don't remember where I saw this, but I believe I read somewhere that if one places two different kinds of conductors next to each other in a circuit, running current in one direction produces heat, while running current in the other direction absorbs it. Did I make this up, or is there something remotely like this?

Describe three different methods of conceptualising fractions. Compare these methods with respect to the operations on fractions needed in order to work with them:

This is the answer:
Ratio, part whole and divison.
Divison: useful for multiplication and division
Part whole: useful for adding and subtraction

What, though, is ration useful for when conceptualising fractions?
How do division and part whole conceptualise fractions?
