Natural selection. Since competition was low, and food was so abundant...the bigger the better. Also, if you were bigger you could kill smaller things or defend yourself from something that wanted to eat you. Mammals were favored to remain small during that time because competition would have been too high with all the huge dinosaurs around. After they died out, mammals had a free world to investigate, and some of them got very large as a result. (Mammoth, Mastadon, Rhinocerous, Giant Ground Sloth, etc.) It's all about evolution.

His theory is this, at their time, everything on earth was huge. From plants to animals. This is because of higher air pressure at the time, higher levels of oxygen. A few researches have been conducted to test this and they all prove it right. Such as oversized tomatoes and fishes when raised in higher pressure and higher oxygen concentration.

A little warning tho, that website is about creationism.

Oh yes, thats why there were giants too at the time. Weve uncovered big human bones..

Life forms always adapt to the environment. smaller life forms could not have existed at the time of the Dinoaurs. The Earth ot today, is no where near what it was billions of years ago. The heat, Humidity and
traps that would engulf smaller life forms were in existence at the time we are talking about. Even the Dinosaurs fell victim to the tar pits and other forms of traps that resulted in their death.
