Is this Q&A just a place for kids to get answers to their homework problems?

I have been looking through the science sections of this site and it seems to me most people are typing in their homework questions and just waiting for someone else to give them the answer. Are there people out there who are honestly just curious about something?

It's been 13 years since my friend disapeared (supposedly into the river)..is there any chance that his body

will ever turn up? The river empties into the Atlantic ocean about 100 miles away. The environment doesn't allow for tropical species of water creatures. Every time a body is found I wonder if it could be him but then the body is tested and found to be someone else.

how do we measure LONGTITUDE? in clear and simply method pls~?

Math: There are 15 vehicles that are either bicycles or tricycles. Together there are 35 wheels?

Removing the Dirt from an 1837 Half Dollar that was buried?

Hi,

I found an 1837 Half Dollar that was buried. At first, I thought it was a large cent because of the color, but after years of being in the ground, this coin has a thick residue of dirt, etc. on it.

I am usually against cleaning coins, but in this case, I am looking to remove the dirt buildup, etc. Anyone know how to do this without harming the coin? I know scrubbing it in any way will damage it further.
