Use linear approximation to estimate the amount of paint in cubic centimeters needed to apply a coat of paint 0.010000 cm thick to a hemisperical dome with a diameter of 45.000 meters.

Can anyone help with this. I started by finding the area of the hemisphere 4pi(r)^2 all divided by 2. Not sure where to go from here.
thanks

When a 3.25g sample of solid sodium hydroxide was dissolved in a calorimeter in 100.0g of water, the temperature rose from 23.9 degrees C to 32.0 degrees C. Calculate the enthalpy change (in kJ/mol NaOH) for the soln process:

NaOH (s)------->Na+ (aq) + OH (aq)

(Assume it's a perfect calorimeter and that the specific heat of the soln is the same as that of pure water.)

Everyone in homework help has got this one wrong.

Find the inverse of

F(x) = (7/x) - 3

Should start like

y = (7/x) - 3
y - 3 = (7/x) How do you get x alone?????

I have 2 ques:

-Calculate the final temperature when 50mL of water at 60 degrees C are added to 25mL of water at 25 degrees C.

-A piece of metal weighing 5.10 g at a temperature of 48.6 degrees C was placed in a calorimeter into 20.00mL of water at 22.1 degrees C, and the final equilibrium temperature was found to be 26.8 degrees C. What is the specific heat of the metal?

I thought specific heat=q (heat in J)/ (m)(change in temp)...but I can't seem to use that for this problem...

any help is greatly appreciated!!!

A ball having a mass of 150 g strikes a wall with a speed of 5.2 m/s and rebounds with only 50% of its initial kinetic energy. (a) What is the speed of the ball immediately after rebounding? (b) What is the magnitude of the impulse on the wall from the ball? (c) If the ball was in contact with the wall for 7.6 ms, what is the magnitude of the average force on the ball from the wall during this time interval? Can you explain how you get your answers?

I am a Christian, but feel ashamed by those who share my faith, yet do not use the mind God gave them. Around the world Christians accept what science is and how it works, but here in the USA the majority know little about what science is and how it explains the world around us.

In science theories are used to explain facts; observed facts (fossil sequences, comparative DNA, homology, embryology) are explained by a theory called Evolutionary Biology.

Science itself cannot say anything about the existence or non-existence of God or anything supernatural since that is the realm of theology and not science, yet instead of educating themselves I have found many of my fellow Christians remaining ignorant about science, incredulous of its methods, and willing to deceive themselves and others about many fields of science (geology, physics, chemistry, biology) and even mathematics in order to attack Evolutionary Biology while proving they cannot even correctly define said theory.

An ice skater of mass m is given a shove on a frozen pond. After the shove she has a speed of v_1 = 2 m/s. Assume that the only horizontal force that acts on her is a slight frictional force between the blades of the skates and the ice.

Use the net work-kinetic energy theorem to find the distance the skater moves before coming to rest. Assume that the coefficient of kinetic friction between the blades of the skates and the ice is u^kin = 0.12.
